Iqbal Hossain: Police confirm Comilla marquee perpetrator's identity

Dhaka, October 22: Police have confirmed that the youth arrested in Cox's Bazar on suspicion of being involved in the Comilla incident has been identified as Iqbal Hossain.

On Friday (October 22) morning, Comilla Superintendent of Police Farooq Ahmed said, "Our team went to Cox's Bazar and confirmed the identity. The detainee kept the Holy Quran in a puja mandapa (marquee) on the bank of Nanuar Dighi in Comilla. He has been identified from the CCTV footage."

The arrested Iqbal is the son of Nur Alam, a fishmonger from Sujanagar area of ​​Ward 17 of Comilla city. A team of Comilla District Detective Police led by Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Sohan Sarkar went to Cox's Bazar and took him to Comilla.

Iqbal Hossain was arrested while roaming in the beach area on Thursday night. He was later brought to the police super office and questioned. A team of Comilla district police reached Cox's Bazar around 5:00 am. Iqbal was handed over to Comilla district police around 6:30 am. After that the team of Comilla district police left for Comilla with Iqbal.
