Dhaka, March 18: Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud said about the report given by the US National Democratic Institute (NDI) and the International Republican Institute (IRI) on the 12th National Assembly elections of Bangladesh, it does not matter what they said or not.

The foreign minister spoke to reporters after a program at the capital's Foreign Service Academy on Sunday. Meanwhile, journalists want to know his reaction to the reports of two American organizations.

The foreign minister said that in the report given by NDI and IRI, they have admitted that there has been less violence compared to the elections held in other times. Talking about the quality, the quality of this election was much better than the previous elections in Bangladesh or the elections in our subcontinent. A fair and good election was held.

Hasan Mahmud said, "It doesn't matter what NDI and IRI said. They presented their statement. We are looking at that. But a beautiful, fair, free and impartial election was held in the country. BNP and its allies did not participate there. BNP and their allies have called not only to boycott the elections but also to resist the elections. So, if this issue is mentioned in their report or those who speak about it at different times in the country and abroad, they should also address this issue."

He said that BNP has called for the election to be resisted and not only resisted, but to resist the election, violence has been done, people have been burnt and killed.

Responding to a question whether the government is rejecting the report, the foreign minister said it is not a matter of rejection or acceptance. They have reported, we are looking at the report and we are examining all the observations that our friendly countries or others are making.
