Dhaka, March 19: Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina said that the people of the country are on their side, so it will not be possible to topple her government and push the country back into darkness.

She said, "They (BNP-Jamaat) are dreaming of ousting Awami League from power. How can they forget that Awami League is always with the people. For which people vote them again and again."

Sheikh Hasina said this in the president's address at the discussion meeting organized by Bangladesh Awami League at the Awami League office in Tenjgaon on the occasion of celebrating the '104th birth anniversary and National Children's Day-2024' of the Father of the Nation on Monday.

The Prime Minister said that the BNP criticized the government for not distributing Iftar among the poor people during the month of Ramadan. They eat iftar and sing gossip about Awami League. And when the Awami League will be overthrown, it is seen.

She said that Awami League and its affiliated organizations and its elected representatives are distributing Iftar among the poor across the country instead of holding Iftar parties. Has repeatedly supported the countrymen and Awami League. Because they have always got Awami League by their side.

The head of government said, "In this month of Ramadan, I will tell everyone to stand by the poor common people around you and help them. Just as we are helping them by distributing Iftar, you should also do the same."

She criticized the politics of BNP for not standing by the common people of the country in this month of moderation due to the inflation caused by the global economic recession and said, let them have iftar parties, but you will show that you are on the side of the people.

"And this is why people vote for us. It is for this reason that the people of Bangladesh vote for us again and again," she added.

Referring to the demand of caretaker government of BNP, the Prime Minister said that now there is a different motive behind this demand.
