Jatiya Party will be the opposition party in Parliament: GM Quader

He hoped this while talking to the media persons at Skyview residence in Senpara, Rangpur city on Saturday, January 20 afternoon.

GM Quader said, we were the opposition party in the last parliament. I have always played the role of the opposition party for the welfare of the country and nation. Criticized the government constructively and highlighted irregularities and corruption along with our recommendations. That is still our politics.

GM Quader said that there are mainly two parties in the current parliament. An Awami League. They formed the government on the basis of majority. Jatiya Party is a separate political party with 11 members. That is why we think that Jatiya Party can play an important role as an opposition party to the government. However, if the government does not give such a position, we are the only party to criticize the government for the welfare of the country and nation. I will guide the government in the right direction by pointing out the bad things of the government and giving recommendations.

GM Quader said that since the election of the Leader of the Opposition is under the purview of the Speaker. As far as we know, we should get it overall. According to the decision of the Jatiya Party parliamentary party, a letter has been sent to the speaker with a resolution nominating himself as the leader of the opposition, Anisul Islam Mahmud as the deputy leader and Mujibul Haque Chunnu as the chief whip.

GM Quader said that the Jatiya Party has been a victim of various conspiracies for a long time. Since leaving the government (after 1991) it has been subjected to various conspiracies at various times. Jatiya Party founder chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad was widely popular. His opponents have tried to undermine it in various ways. There is no possibility of the erosion that is being talked about now.
