Jatiya Party will fight alone, no coalition: Chunnu

Own Correspondence, Dhaka, 23 November 2023: The Jatiya Party (JAPA) has decided to go to the 12th National Assembly elections. However, the party will not be a coalition, but a single election. Secretary General of the party Md. Mujibul Haque Chunnu said this in a press conference at the office of the JPA chairman in Banani of the capital on Wednesday (November 22) at 3:30 p.m.

He said, "Voters will be able to exercise their right to vote freely. We have been assured about this by the concerned parties including the Election Commission. Believing in their promises, our Chairman and Deputy Leader of the Opposition Ghulam Mohammad (GM) has decided to participate in the election. The Jatiya Party will participate in the election on the instructions of the Chairman. officially announced."

Stating that all the preparations are almost completed ahead of the election, he said, "We have always said, we want an atmosphere of trust. Voters should go to the center and vote. We have been assured from all the relevant media including the Election Commission that the election will be free, fair and acceptable."

Chunnu said in response to reporters' questions, "The National Party will not join any alliance, it will elect only 300 seats. Till noon, we have sold about 1,400 nomination forms. In almost every seat, several interested candidates have bought nomination forms. We will conduct elections alone as per our announcement."

He said, "We will not compromise seats with anyone. Jatiya Party does transparent politics, there are no accusations of corruption against the party. The people of the country have liked our politics for the last 33 years. We hope that we can compete strongly in 300 seats."
