Jatrabari accident kills father-son duo

Dhaka, October 19: A man and his son were killed when their motorcycle lost control and collided with an electric pole. The accident took place at Konapara in Dhaka's Jatrabari on Sunday (October 18).

The deceased were identified as Anisur Rahman Babul, 55, and his son Sadman Rahim. Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital police outpost inspector (in-charge) Bachchu Mia confirmed the matter.

Anisur's brother-in-law said Md. Mahmud said the deceased lived with his two sons and wife in Madhyapara of Matuail.

He own a tiles business on Green Road.

The eldest son, Sadman Rahim, was a second-year student at Borhanuddin College.

He said they got the news of the father-son accident in the evening.

They were first taken to a hospital near the scene.

The doctors there declared Rahim dead.

His body was taken home.

Anisur was later rushed to DMC Hospital with serious injuries.

Doctors also declared him dead at around 9:45 pm.

Neighbors of the deceased father and son Sadman Shakib and Zakaria Ahmed came to the hospital.

They said Anisur Rahman's eldest son Sadman Rahim and youngest son Sadman Fahim went to a motorcycle service center in the Demra Staff Quarters area on Sunday.

From there, Sadman Rahim and his father Anisur Rahman were returning on a motorcycle and Sadman Fahim was on another motorcycle.

In the Dharmikpara area of ​​Konapara, Sadman Rahim lost control while crossing another motorcycle and collided with an electric pole on the side of the road.
