Jessore: 7 killed in bus accident

Dhaka, July 8: Seven people, including six passengers of an easy bike, were killed in a bus accident in Jessore. Three of the same family were among the victims. The accident took place on the Jessore-Magura highway in Jessore's Lebutala Tentultala area around 6:30 pm on Friday.

The deceased are easybike driver Imran Hossain (27) of Sultanpur in Jessore Sadar, twin brothers Hossain and Hossain (2) of Jadavpur in Bagharpara, their sister Khadija (7) and Fahima Khatun (30), wife of Babul Munsi of the same village. The names of the other two are not known.

Jahangir Hossain, a local Mudidokani said, an easybike from Jessore was going towards Lebutala market with seven passengers. On reaching Tentultala area, the easybike takes a bypass road to the right. Meanwhile, a bus behind the easy bike hit. Six people died on the spot. Another person died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Jessore Additional Superintendent of Police Belal Hossain said seven people were killed in the road accident. He said that seven people, including the easy bike driver, were killed in a road accident in Lebutala. The bus and the easybike have been impounded.

Jessore 250-bed General Hospital emergency department doctor Asif Muhammad Ali Hasan said the bodies have been sent to the hospital's morgue.
