Dhaka, 28 August 2022 : Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that a joint force-led operation will be conducted to prevent terrorist activities and the spread of drugs in Rohingya camps.

He said this at the end of the fifth meeting of the National Committee on Coordination, Management and Law and Order of Myanmar Citizens Displaced by Force on Sunday (August 28) at the Secretariat.

The Home Minister said, we are sometimes observing terrorist activities inside the Rohingya camps. I am also seeing bleeding for no reason. Sometimes I am also noticing the movement of drugs from Myanmar. For this, we have decided to conduct an information-based operation with the aim of stopping intelligence activities and internal intelligence activities.

He said, Police, RAB, BGB, Ansar are present in those operations; If necessary, our army personnel will also be involved. APBN is working there.

The minister said that the army, BGB, RAB, Ansar, police, APBN will jointly conduct operations inside and outside the camp based on specific information based on the need and reality. He said, "The Rohingyas are in an uncomfortable situation due to our stay here for a long time. Despite repeated attempts, the process of going to their country could not be initiated due to their reluctance. Even so, I sometimes see bloodshed and terror in Rohingya camps.

"By arms they are bleeding, there is no denying that." I will publish information about where they come from and how they come soon. They are using Myanmar mobile phones and cannot identify the criminals. What we want them to use is our desi mobile. We will do the same way we control the mobile. I will do an SOP.

Highlighting other decisions taken in the meeting, Asaduzzaman Khan said, "Fire incidents are happening repeatedly inside the camp." We are investigating why they are happening. Besides, the decision has been taken regarding what is required for further capacity building.
