Sheikh Russel Day Joy's emotional post on Sheikh Russel's birthday
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, Oct 18: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's son and her information and communication technology advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy gave an emotional post on the 59th birthday of Shaheed Sheikh Russel, the youngest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
In a post on his verified Facebook account on Monday night, Joy wrote, "Sheikh Russell's brutal murder: Even nature was shaken by the brutality of that night."
"The feeble voice of Russel begging for life was drowned out by the beastly laughters of assassins and the rattling shots of brushfire. His head was dislodged; the voice of the little angel was silenced forever. A pack of traitors perforated the little birdie, along with other members of Bangabandhu’s family, to avenge the defeat in the war for liberation."
He mentioned in the post, "May every child grow up safely. May the altar of the bloodstained memory of Russel ring in a new, humane world."

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's younger brother Sheikh Russell was born on this day in 1964 at house number 32 in Dhanmondi. He died on August 15, 1975, by the merciless bullets of the assassins.
According to a decision of the Cabinet Division, the birthday of Sheikh Russell, the youngest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, is being observed as 'Sheikh Russell Day' from 2021. The main theme of this year's Sheikh Russell National Day is "Sheikh Russell is a symbol of serenity, bold, lively and fearless."
