Dhaka, Nov 15: After US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Affairs Donald Lu wrote to the three major parties of Bangladesh to sit in the dialogue 'without preconditions', Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader urged President Md. Shahabuddin to take the initiative for this dialogue.

GM Quader went to Bangabhaban to meet the President after 8 pm on Tuesday. There he called on the President.

Later Jatiya Party Special Envoy Mashroor Mawla however said, "It was a courtesy meeting. Nothing beyond that."

Meanwhile, US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Donald Lu has written to the three main political parties of Bangladesh, Awami League, BNP and Jatiya Party. In such a situation, the Chairman of Jatiya Party is having a meeting with the President very suddenly.

The party has not yet confirmed whether the Jatiya Party is coming to the polls or not. In the meantime, GM Quader said in an event today that the environment for going to the elections has not yet been created. If there is an election, there is a possibility of sanctions. What if we go to the polls in this situation, and if the government is in trouble later?

Quader said to the party leaders, you have given me the responsibility to make decisions. I have to think about many things. The letter from the United States has come to us. This letter is very important. This is the official letter of the United States. They want dialogue. We have also been talking about dialogue.

He also said, we don't want to be the face of any other party. Now as a team we are much stronger. Our unity is greater now than at any other time.
