According to the source of the case, Kajal Rekha (32), the husband of Barlidah village of Sreepur upazila of Magura, worked as a laborer in the pride jute mill of Madhukhali's Rajdharpur village. Due to his job, he used to live in the house of Lucky Begum of Rajdharpur village. A Nasim driver named Chunnu Sikdar used to pick him up from home. Later Kajal Rekha got involved in a love affair with a man. Knowing this incident, Chunnu Sikder asks Kajal Rekha to end the relationship. But when Kajal did not agree to Chunnu's words, there was an argument between them.

On October 15, 2019, Kajal Rekha was on night duty. On that day between 11:30 and 1:30 a.m., Chunnu Sikdar took Kajal to the vegetable garden of a man named Babu Military of Rajdharpur village and raped her. When the other four saw it, they also raped her. Later they strangled Kajol by wrapping a towel around her neck.

The next day on October 16 around 7 am, the police recovered the body of Kajal Rekha from the Kala Bagan of Babu Military. In this incident, Kajol's mother became the plaintiff and filed a case at Madhukhali police station alleging rape and murder by an unknown accused. The investigating officer of the case, the then Inspector (Investigation) of Madukhali police station, Saiful Alam submitted the charge sheet to the court on December 31, 2019 accusing five people.

Expressing satisfaction with the verdict, the public prosecutor (PP) of the court and lawyer for the state Swapan Kumar Pal said that this verdict will pave the way for the establishment of rule of law in the country. As a result, the crime tendency will decrease from the society.
