Khaleda Zia: BNP chief moved to cabin from CCU

Dhaka, June 15: BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has been taken to the cabin after being treated at the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of Evercare Hospital in the capital for more than four consecutive days.

She was transferred from CCU to the cabin on Wednesday (June 15) at 1:05 p.m. BNP chairperson's press wing member Shairul Kabir Khan said this.

In this regard, Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, Khaleda Zia's personal physician and vice-chairman of the party, said, "Madam had been taken to the cabin a while ago. There are some more experiments. The medical board will decide what to do about them."

The former prime minister was admitted to the CCU of Evercare Hospital in the capital at 3:20 am on Saturday (June 11) due to deteriorating physical condition. At around 2:55 am on the same night, she was taken to the hospital from her residence 'Firoza' in Gulshan. An angiogram was performed on Saturday afternoon. It detected several blocks in her heart. One block was 95 percent. The ring is worn on it.

Khaleda Zia is on an interim release on two conditions: "You can't go abroad and you have to take treatment at home."

On March 25, 2020, Khaleda Zia was granted conditional six-month interim release for the first time by the executive order of the government under Article 401 (1) of the Code of Criminal Procedure. Her release was extended for another six months in September of that year. After that, her release period gradually increased. Last March, the government granted her request to extend her sentence by suspending it once more, leaving the conditions unchanged.

Khaleda Zia, 76, has been living in her home in Gulshan for more than two years. she is suffering from various complications of old age, including arthritis, diabetes and eye problems.
