Khaleda Zia gets booster dose of COVID vaccine

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, February 24: BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has taken the booster dose of Corona vaccine.

She took the vaccine at Sheikh Russell Gastroliver Institute and Hospital in the capital. Khaleda Zia got Pfizer as the third (booster) dose. The BNP chairperson went to the hospital on Wednesday (February 23) at around 4:45 pm to get vaccinated. Khaleda Zia was vaccinated while she was surrounded by party leaders and activists.

Earlier, a vehicle carrying Khaleda Zia left her Gulshan residence Firoza for the hospital at 4:13 pm to take booster dose. Khaleda Zia was accompanied to the hospital by her brother's wife Kaniz Fatima and housemaid Fatema Begum.

BNP Vice Chairman Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain said, "Khaleda Zia took the booster dose manufactured by Pfizer company."

He added that a total of four people, including Khaleda Zia, had taken the booster dose. The other three are Khaleda Zia's family assistants Rupa Sikder, Abdur Rahim and Abdul Khaleq.

Meanwhile, on the occasion of Khaleda Zia's arrival, the leaders and activists of the BNP and its affiliated organizations gathered around the hospital and chanted slogans. They demanded the release of Khaleda Zia.

Khaleda Zia's convoy included Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP convener Aman Ullah Aman, member secretary Aminul Haque, BNP joint secretary general Khairul Kabir Khokon, Habib Un Nabi Khan Sohail, health secretary Dr. Rafiqul Islam, Juba Dal president Saiful Alam Nirab and general secretary Sultan Salauddin Tuku , Khaleda Zia's Special Assistant Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, Press Wing Member Shairul Kabir Khan, Shamsuddin Didar and others.

Shairul Kabir Khan, a member of BNP chairperson's media wing, said the former prime minister had taken the first dose on July 19 last year and the second dose on August 18 last year. On April 11 last year, Khaleda Zia contracted Corona.
