Khaleda Zia Khaleda Zia's surgery completed under American doctors' supervision
Dhaka, Oct 27: Khaleda Zia has had tips transplanted into her body to stop watery stomach and bleeding due to liver cirrhosis. Through this, Zia's surgery was completed under the supervision of American doctors. But now the doctors said that her liver transplant is necessary.
Doctor's Association of Bangladesh (DAB) President Dr. Harun Al Rashid confirmed this information to reporters and said, "This is not the final treatment. Now liver transplant is necessary."
Earlier, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, who was under treatment at Evercare Hospital, was taken to OT for surgery at around 6 pm. Prof. Dr. Hamid Ahmed Abdur Rab, Prof. Christos Savas Georgiades, James Peter Hamilton, Dr. FM Siddiqui, A. Z. M. Zahid Hussain, Dr. Abdullah Al Mamun, Dr. Nuruddin Ahmed were peresent there.
Earlier, Khaleda Zia's personal physician Professor AZM Zahid Hossain told reporters that American doctors arrived in Dhaka last night. The medical board constituted for Khaleda Zia will meet with them today. Review her various tests and watch her. Then they will decide what to do with the medical board.
Professor Christos Savas Georgiades and Professor James Peter Hamilton arrived at Shahjalal International Airport at 7:30 pm on Wednesday. At 10:30 pm they went to Evercare Hospital and started working on Khaleda Zia's treatment. Professor Hamid Rab came from the United States at 2 am.
