Dhaka, July 9: In the Khulna division 71 people have died in the last 24 hours, breaking all previous records of coronavirus deaths. At this time 1,656 people have been identified. Rasheda Sultana, director of the divisional health department, confirmed the information on Friday (July 9).

According to the health director's office, a maximum of 23 people have died in Khulna district in the last 24 hours. Of the others, 14 died in Kushtia, nine in Jessore, 10 in Jhenaidah, six in Chuadanga, five in Meherpur, two in Bagerhat and one each in Narail and Magura.

The first coronavirus patient was identified in Khulna division on March 19 last year in Chuadanga. A total of 69,187 people have been identified in 10 districts of the division since the onset of coronavirus infection till Friday morning. A total of 1,487 people died of the attack and 44,727 recovered.

Dr. Suhas Ranjan Haldar, Focal Person of Khulna Corona Hospital, said that many patients and people are coming from border districts and India. Due to Benapole and Darshana land ports, all patients are being transported from Khulna-Satkhira. Due to which the disease is spreading in this region. The disease is spreading a little more due to the unawareness of the people in the region. The infection has spread to the village level.

Khulna Civil Surgeon Niaz Mohammad said the infection had spread before the lockdown. That is why identification and death have increased. He is hopeful that the infection will decrease in a short time if the lockdown continues and hygiene is followed.

Analysis of district-wise corona data of the departmental health department shows that in the last 24 hours, 296 coronavirus have been identified in Khulna district of the department. So far 18,194 people have been identified in the district. Three hundred and ninety-two people died and 12,291 people recovered.

In Bagerhat, 135 new coronavirus have been identified. A total of 4,409 people have been identified in the district. Ninety-eight people died due to the infection and 3,037 people recovered.

In Satkhira, 136 people have been newly identified in 24 hours. A total of 4,186 people have been identified as corona in the district and 76 have died. Recoveries stood at 2,968.
