Khulna records 32, Rajshahi 25 Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours

Dhaka, June 29: In the last 24 hours, Khulna division and the corona unit of Rajshahi Medical College (RMC) Hospital have recorded 32 and 25 deaths respectively.

Rasheda Sultana, director of the Khulna Divisional Health Department, said on Tuesday (June 29) that 32 people had died of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, and a new record of 1,367 people tested positive for the coronavirus.

According to the divisional health director's office, a maximum of eight deaths have been reported in Jessore in the last 24 hours. Besides, five died in Bagerhat, four each in Khulna and Kushtia, three in Narail, two each in Meherpur, Chuadanga and Magura, and one each in Jhenaidah and Satkhira districts.

Meanwhile, the director of the hospital, Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani, said on Tuesday morning that 25 people had died in the last 24 hours in the coronavirus unit of Rajshahi Medical College (RMC) Hospital. Of the 25 people who died, nine were positive. The remaining 16 died of corona symptoms.

They died between 8 a.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday.

He added that out of the nine corona positive, two were from Natore, one from Chuadanga, three each from Chapainawabganj and Rajshahi. On the other hand, nine more people from Rajshahi, two each from Chapainawabganj and Naogaon, and three from Natore died of the symptoms.

Dr. Shamim Yazdani said 70 people have been admitted to the hospital in the last 24 hours. Till morning, 459 people were admitted in the coronavirus unit of the hospital.
