KNF KNF attack to loot money and show capability: RAB
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 6 April 2024: Commander Khandaker Al Moin, Director of Legal and Media Wing of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), believes that the incident of bank robbery, armed robbery and attack in Ruma-Thanchi of Bandarban is mainly due to money robbery and KNF capability. He said this at a press conference after the rescue of the bank manager at the Bandarban Hill District Parishad conference room on Friday (April 5) at 11 am.
Khandaker Al Moin said, there are several regional organizations in Bandarban district. Armed members of the Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) committed this incident to show their excellence, inspiration to their successors and the capabilities of their allies to the world. However, after seeing the CCTV footage, those involved will be brought under the law. He said that before this Kuki-Chin members were engaged in various criminal activities including training the militants in handling weapons in exchange of money.
Regarding the recovery of the bank manager and weapons, he said, although the weapons and ammunition stolen from Ruma could not be recovered, the bank manager Nezam Uddin was rescued in a healthy condition without taking any risk with the efforts of RAB, army and police. However, due to confidentiality reasons, he did not tell from which place in the room the manager was rescued. Besides, he also said that the case against those involved in the incident is ongoing by the police administration.
Lt. Col. HM Sajjad Hossain and members of various levels and journalists from various electronic and print media working in the district were present in the press conference.
