Land acquisition agreement executed for construction of subway on Airport-Kamalapur route

Dhaka, November 25: After several rounds of surveys and feasibility studies, the route of another metro rail project, MRT-1, has been determined. Under this, a total length of alignment of 27.5 kilometers has been fixed from capital airport to Kamalapur route of Patal Metrorail and from Notunbazar to Purbachal.

For the construction of this route, 88.71 acres of land will be acquired in Pitalganj Mauza of Rupganj Upazila of Narayanganj District. The contract price is 607 crore 65 lakh taka.

Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited Managing Director MAN Siddique signed the agreement on behalf of DMTCL at a hotel in the capital on Wednesday (November 23) morning.

Masakazu Konishi, Executive Officer and Divisional Manager of Tokyo Construction Company Limited (Japan) signed the contract on behalf of the contractor.

MRT Line-01 is 16.2 km to Kamalapur via Airport-Khilkshet-Yamuna Future Park-Natunbazar-Baridhara-Uttar Badda-Hatirjheel-Rampura-Mouchak and the other is Newbazar-Yamuna Future Park-Basundhara-Police Officer Housing Society-Mastul-Purbachal. 11.3 km route will be constructed from West-Poorbachal Centre-Poorbachal Sector-7-Poorbachal Depot.
