Dhaka, January 28: Supreme Court lawyer Khandaker Hasan Shahriar has sent a legal notice to government officials to close all educational institutions in the country until the Corona epidemic is eradicated. In the notice, he said that he would take steps to take 100% online classes by keeping the educational institution closed all the time in Corona.

On Thursday (January 28) morning, lawyer Khandaker Hasan Shahriar himself confirmed to reporters that he had issued a notice to close the educational institution. It said that a notification must be issued within seven days of receiving the notice, stating the closure of all educational institutions in the country.

Earlier, on January 11, Faruk Alamgir Chowdhury, a Supreme Court lawyer representing Abdul Qayyum Sarkar, the principal of Bhawal Mirzapur Public School and College, had sent a legal notice to the government to immediately reopen all schools and colleges across the country. The notice was sent to the education secretary and the director general of the education department. He filed a writ petition on January 21 as no action was taken after the notice.

According to the writ petition, all educational institutions in the country have been closed since March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. So far, the government has issued 11 closure notices. The closure of schools and colleges for a long time is having an adverse effect on the students.

As the educational institution is closed, the students are wandering outside at this time, spending time watching TV. The notice also mentioned that using mobile phones is becoming a bad habit.

In the writ petition, instructions have been sought to reopen the educational institutions which have been closed for a long time considering the overall condition of the students.

The government announced the closure of all educational institutions in the country on March 16 last year to prevent corona infection. After that the leave was extended in stages.
