Liberian ship anchors at Mongla port with equipment from Russia for Rooppur power plant

Dhaka, Sept 16: Liberian flag ship 'MV Sapodilla' arrived at Mongla port with the equipment of nuclear power plant under construction at Rooppur in Pabna.

The vessel anchored at jetty number eight of the port at 2 pm on Friday. 3 thousand 243.3 thousand 545 metric tons of machinery products have been imported from Russia in this ship. The Harbor Department of Mongla Port Authority has confirmed this information.

Asim Saha, senior manager of Interport Ship Agent Limited, the local shipping agent of the ship that brought the goods, said that on July 16, the ship left St. Petersburg port of Russia with 3,545 metric tons of machinery products. After anchoring at the port jetty at noon, the workers started unloading the goods from the ship. Within four days these products will be fully redeemed and delivered to Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant Authority by road.

Last July 26, Russian ship 'MV Isania' received 1,270 metric tons of machinery products. Earlier, 'MV Margaret' on July 11, 'MV Liberty Harvest' in the same month, 'MV Anka Sky' on May 29, 'MV Anka Sun' on May 6 and 'MV Yamal Orlan' on April 25 arrived at Mongla port directly from Russia with Rooppur cargo. . Those products have already reached Rooppur power plant.
