Dhaka, July 12: The government is going to allow public transport from next Thursday (July 15) in compliance with the health rules. Besides, a limited number of shops and shopping malls will be opened from that day. On Monday (July 12) evening, the Cabinet Division may issue a notification in this regard, according to sources.

According to the latest notification of the government, strict restrictions will continue till July 14 (Wednesday). No authority has yet clarified whether there will be restrictions after that.

An official of the cabinet department said the government is thinking of keeping public transport and shopping malls open ahead of Eid. The official said a summary has been sent to the Prime Minister's Office, but no file from the Prime Minister's Office has reached the Secretariat yet. A decision on the matter could be taken by evening, the official added.

Earlier on Sunday (July 11), sources had said that with the Eid-ul-Adha in mind, there may be some relaxation. Limited range of traffic may also be allowed to enter the market. Besides, the shopping mall may also be opened ahead of Eid. The government is also thinking of keeping everyone at work on Eid due to the rising cost of infection.
