RAJUK List of basement restaurant-market building to be prepared within 7 days
Dhaka, March 10: The Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) said that all the buildings in the city, which have restaurants and markets in their basements, will be listed within seven days.
RAJUK Member (Development and Control) Tanmoy Das told reporters after inspecting the damaged building on Thursday (March 9) morning.
He said that 24 sub-zones of 8 zones of Rajuk will be inspected and listed. Whether these markets and restaurants have ventilation or not, approval or not will be seen.
On Tuesday (March 7) around 4:50 pm, there was a loud explosion in the seven-storey building on the North-South Road of Siddique Bazar in Gulistan. The three floors of the building were completely damaged in the blast. There were several shops selling sanitary and household goods. In addition to the explosion, the walls of the building collapsed and the contents fell out. A bus standing opposite the building was also damaged. In addition, some nearby buildings were also damaged.
After the explosion, 11 units of the fire service participated in the rescue operation. Several ambulances rushed to the scene to take the injured to the hospital. Apart from this, the law enforcement forces and locals also assisted in the rescue work. Twenty-three people have died in this explosion so far. About a hundred people were injured. Three people are missing.
