Loan Defaulters List of top 20 loan defaulters placed in Parliament
Dhaka, January 25: The list of top 20 loan defaulters of the country has been placed in the National Parliament. Their total debt amount is Tk 19,283 crore 93 lakh. Out of this, defaulted loan is Tk 16,587 crore 92 lakh. Although the names of 20 loan defaulters have been placed, the total number of defaulters is 7,86,065.
On Tuesday (January 24), Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal gave this information in the question and answer session of the National Assembly. Earlier, Parliamentarian Shahiduzzaman Sarkar wanted to know about the debt defaulter from the Finance Minister.
According to the information shared by the minister, among the top 20 defaulters in the country, the debt status of CLC Power Company Limited is Tk 1,732 crore 92 lakh. Their defaulted debt is Tk 1,640 crore 44 lakh. The debt status of Western Marine Shipyard Limited is Tk 1,855 crore 39 lakh. Their defaulted debt is Tk 1,529 crore 74 lakh.
Besides, the debt status of Remex Footwear Limited is Tk 1,077 crore 63 lakh. All of these are defaulted loans. Debt status of Rising Steel Company Limited is Tk 1,142 crore 76 lakh. Their defaulted debt is Tk 990 crore 28 lakh.
The debt status of Mohammad Elias Brothers (Pvt.) Ltd. is Tk 965 crore 60 lakh. All of these are defaulted loans. Rupali Composite Leather Wire Limited's status and amount of defaulted loans are the same. Their defaulted debt is Tk 873 crore 29 lakh. The status of Crescent Leathers Products Limited and the amount of defaulted loans is Tk 855 crore 22 lakh. Quantum Power Systems Limited's status and amount of defaulted loans is Tk 811 crore 33 lakh. The debt status of Saad Musa Fabrics Limited is Tk 1,131 crore and 83 lakh. Their defaulted loan amount is Tk 776 crore 63 lakh.
Apart from this, the status of BR Spinning Mills Limited and the amount of defaulted loans is Tk 721 crore 43 lakh. The debt status of SA Oil Refinery Limited is Tk 1,172 crore 69 lakh. The amount of their defaulted loans is Tk 703 crore 53 lakh. The debt status of Maisha Property Development Limited is Tk 686 crore 14 lakh. Their defaulted loan amount is Tk 663 crore 18 lakh. Debt status of Radium Composite Textiles Limited is Tk 770 crore 48 lakh. Their defaulted loan amount is Tk 660 crore 42 lakh.
