Long queues outside vaccination centres across Bangladesh

Dhaka, July 29: With the Pfizer and AstraZeneca coronavirus jabs being closed currently, citizens in the country is being vaccinated with the Chinese made Sinopharm and US' Moderna vaccines. Meanwhile, the queues outside vaccination centers are increasing every day.

Meanwhile, 1,88,003 people have been vaccinated with the first dose of Sinopharm in the last 24 hours, while 63,738 people have received with the first dose of Moderna jab.

Among those who received the Sinopharm jabs were 1,05,638 men and 82,365 women. With this, a total of 86,54,701 people have received the first dose of the Chinese made coronavirus vaccine.

Meanwhile, 6,529 people- 2,805 men and 3,724 women- received the second dose of the Sinopharm vaccine. A total of 23,593 people have been administred the second dose of the vaccine.

In the last 24 hours, 39,774 men and 23,964 women received the Moderna vaccine, taking the total number of people who have received the jab to 5,45,453.

Earlier on January 27, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the coronavirus vaccination drive in the country. Since then, the first dose of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine, produced at the Serum Institute in India, has been administered to 58,20,033 people, while 42,98,086 people have received the second dose of this vaccine.

The first dose of the Pfizer vaccine has been received by 50,235 people, while 288 people have been administred the second dose.

Meanwhile, 1,34,71,127 people across the country have registered for vaccination till 5:30 pm on Wednesday.
