Own Correspondent, Dhaka, April 12: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's ICT adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy has said that looting of people's money and non-implementation of promises made in the manifesto were the features of BNP-Jamaat regime.

He said looting of people's money, incomplete construction work and incomplete promises given in the manifesto were the features of the BNP-Jamaat government from 2001 to 2006. Of the more than 100 specific promises in their election manifesto, only a few have come true.

He made the remarks in a post on his verified Facebook account on Monday (April 11) entitled "Five years of Bangladesh's backwardness: Everything under the heel of Hawa Bhaban through syndicate".

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's son Sajeeb Wazed Joy said, "During the rule of BNP-Jamaat between 2001 and 2006, all construction projects, such as roads, bridges, culverts, and government buildings, doomed by bribery and corruption, remained incomplete and defective."

Adding a video in support of the post, he said, "Through this video, I tried to demonstrate how Hawa Bhaban used to distribute all government projects through syndicates and how the close associates of Tarique turned tycoons overnight through corruption. You will hear straight from the horse's mouth. People will testify to that syndicate business of BNP-Jamaat that they fell victim to."

Referring to the period 2001-2006 as 'Five years of Bangladesh's backwardness', Sajeeb Wazed Joy spoke of some serious problems of that time. These include excessive prices of essential commodities, widespread power outages and deteriorating law and order situation.
