Dhaka, February 5: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that there are some problems in the mountains in the wake of the killing of an army member by terrorists in Ruma, Bandarban. The army is working. Many kinds of conspiracies work here. Additional police are being deployed along with the army as per the peace agreement.
He made the remarks while inspecting the security situation at Saraswati Puja at Rajdhani High School on Manikmia Avenue in the capital on Saturday (February 5).
He also said that the US sanctions against the RAB were due to misinformation. It is being investigated who sent money abroad in the name of hiring lobbyists. They will be brought before them soon. Those who sent money are being investigated. They will also be brought under the law.
Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that the security forces were not involved in the disappearance. People hid and came back later.
Armed terrorists opened fire on an army patrol in Ruma, Bandarban. One army member and three terrorists were killed. Another soldier was injured.
The incident took place in Bathipara area of Ruma upazila around 10:30 pm on Wednesday (February 2), according to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday (February 3).
