Maximum of 20 people allowed in the congregation of Waqt and Tarabi prayers

Dhaka, April 13: As the coronavirus pandemic has taken on a new shape, a maximum of 20 worshipers will be able to participate in the five daily prayers in the mosque and the Tarabi prayers in Ramadan to ensure proper protection. In the current situation, the Ministry of Religious Affairs issued the directive on Monday (April 12) on the instructions of the Cabinet Division.

According to the directive, in order to ensure proper protection against the deadly coronavirus epidemic worldwide, the following instructions have been issued for performing prayers in mosques from April 14 until further notice:

A. A maximum of 20 worshipers will participate in the five daily prayers in the mosque.

B. A maximum of 20 worshipers including Khatib, Imam, Hafez, Muazzin and Khadim will participate in Tarabi prayers.

C. Worshipers will participate in the Friday prayers following social distance and hygiene rules.

D. Respected worshipers are requested to pray for the mercy of Allah Almighty and deliverance from danger through recitation and remembrance in the holy month of Ramadan.

The local administration, law enforcement, Islamic Foundation officials and the management committee of the mosque concerned have been requested to implement the guidelines.
