Dhaka, March 20: Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh has directed the councillors of the corporation to stay in the ground to closely supervise the various initiatives taken and the activities under implementation to resolve the waterlogging.

Mayor Taposh gave this instruction at the 24th corporation meeting of the second council of the corporation at the Mayor Hanif auditorium of DSCC head office Nagar Bhaban on Tuesday.

Sheikh Taposh said, "Waterlogging is one of the long-standing problems. Since assuming responsibility, we have implemented extensive activities including construction and renovation of infrastructure with our own funding, removal of waste from canals, drains and sewers. Work is still going on in many places and new work will be done in many places. Your tireless efforts help us in this collective activity. Therefore, you should increase your supervision at the field level to deliver the benefits of waterlogging to the doorsteps of Dhaka residents.
