Mercury to dip, expect less rains: Met

Dhaka, Dec 8: The Meteorological Department has given a forecast of reduction in the rains that have been going on across the country for the past few days due to the impact of Cyclone Michaung. At the same time, the agency has also informed that the temperature will decrease from the middle of next week.

Meteorologist Md. Omar Farooq said on Friday morning that the trend of rain will decrease today. In the meantime, the sky in the western part of the country has started to become cloudless. He said that the rain will reduce in Dhaka after noon. In the last 24 hours till 6 am, Jessore recorded the highest rainfall of 77 mm, Dhaka recorded 37 mm.

Meteorologist Omar Farooq said that the temperature will decrease and the temperature will drop below 10 degrees Celsius after December 11-12. The latest weather bulletin issued on Thursday night, December 7, said that the weather over the country may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy skies. Over the country, night temperatures may drop by 1-2 degrees Celsius and day temperatures may rise by 1-4 degrees Celsius.
