Dhaka, December 29: "We are really proud that Japan has witnessed the positive development of Bangladesh for decades. I want to continue with this development as an ambassador. I will work to further the friendly relations between the two countries. I believe that the Metrorail will change the face of Dhaka." Japanese Ambassador Iwama Kiminori said these at the gathering after the inauguration of the Dhaka Metrorail on Wednesday (December 28).

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the metro rail at 11:04 am on Wednesday at the Diabari end of the capital's Uttara. After that, Prime Minister and many others addressed the rally.

Kiminori expressed hope that the dream of building a smart Bangladesh by 2041 will be fulfilled. "We are very proud that Japan has witnessed this positive development of Bangladesh for decades. I want to continue with this development as a new ambassador."

He said that this addition will play an important role in the daily movement of the common people of Dhaka. It is a safe mode of transport, especially for women.

The Prime Minister's younger sister Sheikh Rehana, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Atiqul Islam, and many others were present at the rally.
