Dhaka, June 24: Nathan Bom, the head of Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF), the separatist organization that shelters the organization in the mountains, has offered to surrender after a series of operations by law enforcement forces against the recently discussed militant organization Jamaat-ul-Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya. But Shamin Mahfuz, the founder of the new militant organization, turned down the proposal and decided to form an armed resistance against the members of the law and order forces.

After a long wait, the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit (CTTC) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested the most wanted militant Shamin Mahfuz alias Sir alias Arif alias Aslam alias Mending and his wife Nazneen. They were arrested from Demra area of the capital on Friday night. A pistol and a large amount of explosives were recovered from them.

CTTC chief Md. Asaduzzaman said this at a press conference organized at DMP Media Center on Saturday afternoon. The long wait has come to an end with the arrest of Shamin Mahfuz, the founder and key figure of Jamaat Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya, the most talked about militant organization in recent times. The CTTC chief expressed hope that a chapter would end with this.

He said that Shamin Mahfuz was a very talented student since his student life. He secured the fifth position in Rajshahi Board in SSC. Then he got involved in camp politics while studying at Rangpur Cadet College. When the matter came to the attention of the authorities, he was expelled. After that, he got admission in another college and kept merit there too. Achieved seventh rank in Rajshahi Board in HSC.

After getting admission in DU, he got involved in the militant organization through his elder brother's son. The organization later emerged as Ansar al-Islam. Since 2007, Shamin Mahfuz came in contact with the top leadership including Jasim Uddin Rahmani, the spiritual leader of the organization. At that time another foreign character was known to emerge in Bangladesh militancy. But we are not clear about that character, we will try to know about that character from Shamin Mahfuz.
