Dhaka, October 27: The members of several militant organizations are trying to organize themselves under the leadership of Shamim Mahfuz, the head of Jamaatul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqia. They are conducting military training together in the Bandarban hills. This militant organization also has links with hill separatists. They were coordinating and training new members motivated by militancy. In the last few days, these operations of the militants were suspended in the hilly areas by the joint forces.

Additional Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (CTTC) Md. Asaduzzaman gave this information in a press conference on Thursday (October 27) morning. The press conference was held at DMP Media Center on Minto Road in the capital. Deputy Commissioner of Police SM Nazmul Haque of City Investigation Department of CTTC was present.

Earlier on Wednesday, the City Investigation Department of the Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit (CTTC) arrested five members of the extremist militant organization from the Demra area of ​​the capital. The arrested are Abdullah (22), Tajul Islam (33), Ziauddin (37), Habibubullah (19) and Mahamudul Hasan (18). Three mobile phones and other items were recovered from them.

Md. Asaduzzaman said, previously the arrested doctor Shakir bin Wali was the head of the Dawa department of this combined militant organization. He got involved in this ideology while studying at Comilla Medical College. Later, Shakir was giving regular treatment to the members of this organization.

The head of CTTC said that during the initial interrogation, the arrested said that they are all active members of the new radical militant organization 'Jamatul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya'. Besides, the arrested Habibubullah and Mahamudul Hasan left their homes for the purpose of emigrating to get Jihad training, inspired by the organization's ideals.

He said that Abdullah, Tajul Islam and Ziauddin, members of the militant organization used to arrange temporary accommodation for the new members who left their homes for the purpose of migration. Besides, the accused used to receive young people who had migrated from different parts of Dhaka city and took them to Abdullah's house and incited them with extremist ideas. Later they arranged to send them for training.

After the recent disappearance of seven youths from Comilla, there was a nationwide stir, the CTTC launched a shadow investigation. Abrarul Haque, who left Comilla for migration, was identified and arrested on September 13 from Moghbazar area of ​​the capital.
