Mirpur Memorial is ready to pay homage to the martyred intellectuals of the country

Own representative, Dhaka, 13 December 2021: 14 December, the sad day of the Bengali nation. The country's best intellectuals were brutally slaughtered on this very day just before the victory in the war of liberation with Pakistan in 1971. To commemorate that day of mourning, the Bengali nation has been observing Martyred Intellectuals Day on 14th December every year. On this day, the Martyred Intellectuals are honored with flowers on the blood red altar of the memorial.

Due to this, the Shaheed Buddhijibi Memorial is cleaned before 14th December. Cleaning work has been completed at the Shaheed Buddhijibi Memorial in Mirpur. Besides all the decorating are nearing completion.

It is seen that the entrance of the intellectual memorial has been washed away. Alpana painted in white and red. The main pillar of the memorial has been cleaned and redone. The grass of the inner field has been pruned. Excess tree stalks, frozen water, flowering plants and everything else has been cleaned.

The tombs of the martyrs have also been cleared of weeds. At the entrance of the memorial, the tombs of Beer Shreshtha Matiur Rahman and Beer Shreshtha Hamidur Rahman have been repainted. The President and the Prime Minister paid homage to this monument on the day of Martyred Intellectuals. Apart from them, various political parties, social and cultural organizations also paid their respects. People from all walks of life come to pay their respects.
