Dhaka, June 21: Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen urged the United States to import more Bangladeshi-produced medicines.

He said that Bangladesh is producing medicines of international quality through the use of latest technical technology. Also exporting drugs at competitive prices to many countries of the world. During Corona, the US took a lot of medical equipment from Bangladesh. Now USA can get more medicine from Bangladesh.

Mark Emalfarb, president and CEO of American biotechnology company Dyadic, met with Foreign Minister Abdul Momen at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday afternoon. At this time, the minister made this call.

Dr. Momen said that in many countries of the world, including the United States, the cost of production is high, so the price of medicine is also high. Big companies of those countries can take comparative advantage by investing in the pharmaceutical industry of Bangladesh and transferring technology.

During the meeting, Dyadic President Mark Emalfarb informed about the initiative to increase Bangladesh's capacity in vaccine production by signing a memorandum of understanding with Essential Drugs Company Limited, a state-owned pharmaceutical company of Bangladesh. In response, the Minister thanked Mark Emalfarb for his initiative to collaborate with Essential Drugs Company Limited, a world-renowned biotechnology company like Dyadic.

Meanwhile, today, Wednesday 21 June, there is a memorandum of understanding signed between Essential Drugs Company Limited and the US biotechnology company Dyadic in the Ministry of Health regarding vaccine production.
