More than half a million passengers visit UAE

Dhaka, October 24, 2021: The number of passengers traveling to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has crossed 50,000 after passing the corona sample test (negative) at the RT-PCR laboratory set up at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

The corona test of the passengers started six hours before the departure of the flight at the laboratory set up at the airport on September 29. Coroner positive or negative certificate is given on the basis of sample collection and results obtained. If the corona is positive, the journey is canceled and if it is negative, the passengers reach the UAE with the certificate.

From September 29 to today (October 24) at 8 am, a total of 50,057 people have gone to the UAE after passing the sample test in six laboratories of the airport.

Out of them, only 30 people could not go on the specific flight due to positive reports. However, many of them later left with negative credentials.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, 2,321 people went to the UAE after passing the sample test. Out of this only one passenger could not go due to positive report.

Assistant Director of the Department of Health working at Shahjalal Airport. Shahriar Sajjad said that the collection and testing of samples started from September 29 at the RT-PCR laboratory set up by six institutions approved by the Department of Health next to Terminal No.1.

As per the instructions of the UAE government, the passengers were sent to the UAE once 48 hours before and six hours before the departure of the flight through 10 separate booths.

In the meantime, 50,056 people have passed the sample test and gone to UAE. Most of the passengers are expatriate workers. The Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment is bearing the cost of their sample test.
