Dhaka, November 4: The Mujib Climate Prosperity Plan will serve as a beacon for CVF (Climate Vulnerable Forum) countries. It will show the way to tackle climate change.

Saima Wazed Hossain Putul, chairperson of Bangladesh's National Advisory Committee on Autism and Neuro Developmental Disorders and WHO Goodwill Ambassador for Southeast Asia, told reporters at the Bangladesh Pavilion at the Glasgow Climate Conference on Wednesday (November 3).

At that time, Bangladesh presented the Mujib Climate Action Plan to the representatives of different countries.

The Prime Minister's daughter Saima Wazed said, "If we can implement this plan properly, we will be able to solve the problems related to climate. We put a lot of effort into making this plan. If other countries follow this, we believe they will be able to defend themselves. Bangladesh has already been able to successfully demonstrate the tolerance it needs to tackle climate change."

What is the goal of Mujib's climate prosperity plan? In response to such a question, she said, "Mujib Climate Prosperity Plan has been taken forward with the plan of the next decade. Through which we have been told to tackle the effects of climate change. With this plan we will be able to deal with climate change and the impact of Covid-19. The damage done to our growth by Covid-19 can be offset by the Mujib Climate Prosperity Plan."

Saima Wazed Putul said, "We are losing lives, resources, houses due to climate change. Besides, many have lost their homes and are living as climate refugees."

She added, "The Mujib Prospective Climate Plan list has been closed. The plan has been praised by world leaders. If it is implemented, Bangladesh will go a long way in implementing SDGs. Women, children and people with disabilities are under threat from climate change. We need to find a way to cope with climate change. All the solutions are in the Mujib Climate Prosperity Plan."

"This flagship project is an important step towards green, nature-based solutions and the aftermath of the Covid-19 crisis. The 48 countries that are members of the Climate Vulnerable Forum are responsible for only five percent of the world's carbon emissions. But the adverse effects of climate change have posed a fundamental threat to our lives and livelihoods," she said.
