Dhaka, July 24: On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, 1 crore 4 lakh 94 thousand 683 mobile SIM card users have left Dhaka till Thursday (July 22), while 8 lakh 20 thousand 516 users have returned to the capital city on Thursday. Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar made the announcement on Friday (July 23rd) night.

"A little while ago, I got the account of the SIM coming and going from Dhaka. It is not unbelievable that 1 crore 4 lakh 94 thousand 683 mobile SIM subscribers have left Dhaka till July 22. On the other hand, only 8 lakh 20 thousand 516 users have returned to Dhaka the day after Eid," the minister said.

"It remains to be seen what will happen after the lockdown starting today. It remains to be seen what effect this will have on Corona. However, this is not an account of people going out and coming to Dhaka. Because one person can have many SIM cards, while some families may use just one or two SIM cards," the Posts and Telecommunications Minister added.
