Nearly 2.25 crore doses of coronavirus vaccine administered across Bangladesh

Dhaka, August 20: A total of 2,24,13,079 doses of the coronavirus vaccine have been administred, so far, across Bangladesh, according to press release signed by the Director of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The first dose has been received by 1,61,58,677 people, while 62,54,402 people have been administred the second dose of the vaccine.

A total of 94,00,332 men and 67,58,345 women have received the first dose.

The second dose has been received by 38,83,810 men and 23,70,592 women.

Among these were 1,09,62,113 Oxford-AstraZeneca (Covishield) doses, 86,40,650 Sinopharm doses, 27,17,178 Moderna doses and 93,138 Pfizer-BioNTech doses.

Oxford-AstraZeneca: -

Received by 68,35,304 men and 41,26,809 women.

First dose has been received by 58,21,808 people- 36,10,041 men and 22,11,767 women.

Second dose received by 51,40,305 people- 32,25,263 men and 19,15,042 women.

Sinopharm: -

China's Sinopharm vaccine was first rolled out in Bangladesh on June 19, 2021.

The jab has been administred to 47,82,141 men and 38,54,509 women.

First dose has been taken by 77,85,220 people- 42,92,253 men and 34,92,967 women.

Second dose received by 8,55,430 people- 4,89,888 men and 3,65,542 women.
