A Bangladesh court has granted a seven-day remand to Mizanur Rahman, a member of a teenage gang accused of stabbing schoolgirl Neela Roy to death in Savar.

Police produced him in Dhaka's Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court on Saturday (September 26th). Investigation Officer SI Nirmal Chandra Ghosh of Savar Police Station requested to remand him for 10 days for proper investigation of the case. Following the hearing, Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Rajib Ahsan granted a seven-day remand.

Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) of the court Anwarul Kabir Babul confirmed the matter.

Meanwhile, Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Fairuz Tasneem on Friday granted a two-day remand to Mizanur's father Abdur Rahman and mother Nazmun Nahar Siddiqui. They were arrested from Charigram area of ​​Manikganj Sadar Police Station around 8pm on Thursday (September 24).

It may be mentioned that Mizanur Rahman blocked Neela Roy and her brother Alok Roy on their way back from the hospital on the night of September 20. Sapphire was forcibly snatched from her brother, stabbed and fled. Later in the night, he was taken to Savar's Enam Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared Neela dead.

Neela's father Narayan Roy filed a murder case against Mizanur Rahman, her father Abdur Rahman and mother Nazmun Nahar Siddique at Savar police station the next day.
