Newly appointed 11 additional judges take oath

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, August 1: Eleven newly appointed additional judges of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court have taken oath.

On Sunday (July 31) at 4:45 pm, the Chief Justice administered the oath to them at the Judges' Lounge of the Supreme Court. High Court Division Registrar Golam Rabbani conducted the oath ceremony. Earlier, the President appointed 11 new additional judges in the High Court Division of the Supreme Court.

In the notification issued on Sunday, the Ministry of Law said that under the power of Article 98 of the Constitution, they have been appointed as additional judges in the Bangladesh Supreme Court, High Court Division for a period of two years from the date of taking oath. This appointment will be effective from the day of taking oath.

The newly appointed Additional Judges are — District and Sessions Judge Shaukat Ali Chowdhury in PRL, District and Sessions Judge Atabullah, Deputy Attorney General Biswajit Debnath, Deputy Attorney General Aminul Islam, Lawyer Ali Reza, Supreme Court Registrar General Bazlur Rahman, Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Kayesh, Tangail District Judge Fahmida Quader, Deputy Attorney General Bashir Ullah, Supreme Court lawyer SM Masud Hossain Dolan, and Supreme Court lawyer AKM Rabiul Hasan.
