Nine die of Covid-19, daily infection rate stands at 1.85 percent

Dhaka, October 24: Nine people died in the last 24 hours as the Covid-19 death toll in Bangladesh rose to 27,814.

During this time, 278 people tested positive for the virus, across the country, taking the caseload to 15,67,417.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services, 294 people recovered from the disease. So far, 15,30,941 people have recovered after being infected by the coronavirus.

In the last 24 hours, 15,002 samples were collected and 15,042 samples were tested. The daily infection rate was 1.85 percent.

So far, a total of 1,02,03,665 samples have been tested in Bangladesh, for an overall infection rate of 15.36 percent.

The current recovery rate stands at 97.67 percent and the death rate at 1.77 percent.

Among the nine dead in the last 24 hours are seven men and three women.

Dhaka, Khulna and Rajshahi divisions reported two deaths each, while one person each died in Sylhet, Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions.
