Nine residential tower buildings to be constructed for the police

Dhaka, December 3: The Cabinet Committee on Public Procurement has approved a proposal to purchase a work under the project titled Construction of nine residential tower buildings for police in different places. The proposal was approved at the 33rd meeting of the Virtual Cabinet Committee on Public Procurement, chaired by Law Minister Anisul Haque, in the absence of Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal on Wednesday (December 2).

After the meeting, Additional Secretary to the Cabinet Abu Saleh Mostafa Kamal told reporters online that a total of 12 procurement proposals were approved at the procurement cabinet meeting. The total expenditure has been estimated at Tk 4,128.47 crore.

The Additional Secretary said the meeting approved the purchase of a job under the project titled 'Construction of 9 Residential Tower Buildings for Police in different places'. Desh Unnayan Limited and MS Haque Enterprise Limited will do the work at a cost of Tk 64.12 crore.

He said that under the project titled 'Emergency Maintenance Dredging of Rabnabad Channel (Inner and Outer Channel)' being implemented by the Payra Port Authority under the Ministry of Shipping, the proposal for emergency maintenance dredging of Rabnabad Channel (Inner and Outer Channel) was approved. It will cost Tk 408.87 crore. This work will be done by Zendilun of Belgium.

The other proposals approved at the meeting were: The purchase proposal for the import of an additional 40,000 metric tons of Mogas (Octane 95 RON) by December 2020 was approved. The job was awarded to Emirates National Company Limited of Singapore. It will cost Tk 129.63 crore. Mogas cost USD 381.496 per barrel.

The meeting also approved a proposal to purchase work on a package for the project titled Upgradation of Karnafuli Tunnel Link Road (Shikalbaha-Anwara Road) including Anwara Upazila Link Road. The work will be done by National Development Engineers Limited, Taher Brothers and Hasan Techno Builders at a cost of Tk 266.14 crore.

In addition, under a package of the Department of Family Planning, the purchase proposal for the collection of 54.50 million food pills (third generation) in 5 lots was approved. Techno Drugs and Reneta Limited will supply the pills at a cost of Tk 272.50 crore.
