Dhaka, March 30: Advocate Nipun Roy Chowdhury, a member of the BNP's central executive committee, has been remanded for three days after being arrested in a case of arson and subversion.

Police produced Nipun Roy in the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate's Court on Monday.

Police applied for a seven-day remand against her in a case filed with the capital's Hazaribagh police station.

Following the hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mamunur Rashid sentenced her to a three-day remand.

Earlier on Sunday afternoon, RAB arrested her from her house in the capital's Rayerbazar.

On Sunday night, Lieutenant Colonel Ashiq Billah, director of the RAB's law and media department, said Nipun Roy Chowdhury had been arrested in connection with the arson attack on a bus at Janpath Mor and Malibagh in the capital on Saturday.
