Dhaka, October 20: Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader has said that the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly to institutionalize democracy, but the BNP does not understand the people, this is their failure.

He was speaking at an online press conference on contemporary issues at his official residence in the Parliament area on Monday morning.

Noting that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government is working tirelessly to strengthen democracy as well as institutionalize it, Obaidul Quader said, "People are now being involved in any decision-making process. But the main failure of the BNP is not being able to understand the people."

He said the BNP has been throwing stones in the dark over the recent by-elections, their opposition and lies have now become part of the bone marrow. The BNP is not fixed on any issue, they are now using the politics of the field through Facebook.

He said BNP's politics is now floating from afar. According to the constitution, elections will be held on time, there is no chance of mid-term elections.

Obaidul Quader said the people will resist any attempt to come to power in an undemocratic way and stay by the side of the people without investing in creating conspiracies and instability. Do not choose any undemocratic path to power.

Noting that the Election Commission is a constitutional body operating independently, he said the cooperation of all political parties is needed to strengthen the commission. The commission will definitely take action if constructive allegations are made without criticizing Dhalao.

The bridge minister said the BNP had called for a strike, rejecting the by-election results.

The BNP has given a program against the people, but if it destroys the peace and comfort of the people in the name of the program, the Awami League will resist it with the people.
