Dengue Prevention No magic solution to prevent dengue: Mayor Taposh
Correspondent, Dhaka, 2 August 2023: Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh commented that there is no magic solution to prevent dengue. He said, doing one specific thing will eliminate Aedes mosquito completely - there is no such solution. No one has been able to provide such a solution till date.
He said this while interacting with reporters after visiting the designated place for the rickshaw stand in Dhanmondi 2/A area on Wednesday.
DSCC Mayor said, "We have to follow the accepted method of dengue prevention by destroying the breeding grounds of Aedes mosquitoes. But to make the source eradication successful and more effective and efficient, public awareness needs to be increased. If citizens are not responsible and do not identify the sources, then The city corporation cannot go there and destroy the breeding ground of Aedes mosquitoes. Based on the information sent to us by the health department and the information given by those in our control room, we are regularly destroying the breeding grounds of Aedes mosquitoes.”
