Own Correspondent, Dhaka, Nov 14: At one time the internet system in the country was fragile. When we came to power, it was 2G. After that, during the Awami League government, we moved to 5G.

Prime Minister's Information and Communication Technology Advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy was speaking at Radisson Blu Hotel in the capital on Sunday (November 13) afternoon. On this day, the digital transaction platform 'Binimoy' service was officially inaugurated.

Sajeeb Wazed said, in 2008 we expressed the dream of 'Digital Bangladesh'. There was no such thing as digital at that time. Nowhere in the world was there a framework for building a digital nation. Various organizations around the world assured Bangladesh to build a digital country.

He said that various international organizations including IMF and World Bank had assured to build a digital country. It was their dream to have their own consultants in our country. They will work on their own, taking 5-6 years to complete a project. Then I said no need, we will do 'Digital Bangladesh' ourselves.
