Own Correspondent, Dhaka, Sept 6: Awami League General Secretary and Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader has called upon BNP to prepare for the upcoming elections without making any fuss.

He made this call to the BNP leaders from the press conference organized in his office at the secretariat on Monday morning.

'Attacks are being made to clear the field so that the opposition cannot participate in the next elections' - in response to the statement of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Obaidul Quader said, "Such statement of Fakhrul Islam is nothing but a ridiculous and shameless lie. Even BNP leaders are afraid to enter the field, they sit at home with the call of agitation. We are repeatedly saying that BNP should come to the elections."

He said, let the election be competitive, Awami League does not want to score goals in an empty field. If the rival is strong, the election will also be competitive. Sheikh Hasina's government wants a good election in Bangladesh. Awami League wants a good election in the country.

General Secretary of the Awami League said that the election is not far away, it is up to you whether you join the alliance or come alone. You have to come to the election - if you want any change in the platform of power, there is no alternative but the election.

Obaidul Quader said in response to the statement of BNP leaders that the government is not able to push the BNP to violence, the BNP is suffering from the popularity of Sheikh Hasina, not the Awami League. BNP has understood that it is not possible to defeat Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina in the next election.

Pointing out that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's public welfare policy has pushed the political future of the BNP into crisis, the general secretary of the Awami League said that even though BNP leaders have repeatedly called for unity, the people are not responding to their calls. And that's why their pain is increasing.
