Own Correspondent, Dhaka, May 5: At the end of the six-day holiday, all government offices-courts, banks, financial institutions, insurance and stock markets are opening today.

From Thursday (May 5), the offices and transaction schedules of these companies are returning to normal.

This year April 29 (Friday) and 30 (Saturday) were the weekly holidays. The next day, Sunday (May 1), was May Day public holiday. May 2, 3 and 4 (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) were Eid holidays.

However, many officers and employees have taken optional leave on May 5. Those who have taken leave on May 5 will get weekly leave on Friday (May 6) and Saturday (May 7). As a result, they will spend their holidays for nine consecutive days. In the meantime, most of the bank-insurance and stock market officials-employees who went to the village for Eid have returned to Dhaka.

According to the general schedule, bank transactions will continue from 10 am to 4 pm today. However, the banks will remain open till 6 pm to conduct their official activities.

Besides, the stock market will be trading from 10 am to 2.30 pm today. The stock market traded during Ramadan from 10 am to 2 pm.

According to the instructions of the central bank, the banks were open from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm every day of Ramadan. The transaction lasted from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm.

The holy Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated across the country last Tuesday with due dignity and religious solemnity. Wednesday, the second day of Eid, was also a public holiday. The public holiday of Eid started on April 29.
