Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 17 August 2023: Today marks the 18th year of the nationwide series of bomb attacks. The banned militant organization Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) carried out this terrible bomb attack in 63 districts of the country at the same time. This attack was carried out in a planned way across the country. Militants attacked about five hundred points in all districts of the country except Munshiganj. Two were killed and at least 104 were injured. After the Holey Artisan attack, the activities of the militants have been controlled by law enforcement forces, but they are trying to be active again with new names.

Last year, the new militant organization 'Jamaatul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya' was discovered by law enforcement forces. The organization has been recently banned by the government. Most of the Sharqiya members were trying to regroup from old militancy. That's why they left the plains and took refuge in the remote mountains to train in weapons. However, most of the members of this organization are now in the custody of the law enforcement agencies.

Militancy has been inactive for the past few years. But recently there is an attempt to destabilize the country again. RAB's main mandate is to deal with terrorists. A total of 9 organizations have been banned in the country so far.

The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) got the news of another new militant organization named 'Imam Mahmud's Caravan' in the remote hilly area of Tattiuli village of Karmadha Union of Kulaura, Moulvibazar, on August 12, when Jamaatul Ansar Phil Hindal Sharqiya was banned. 10 militants have already been arrested from that militant training center.

Three days later, on August 15, the CCTC discovered a new militant hideout in the remote Kalapahar area of Karmadha union in Kulaura upazila of Moulvibazar. A large quantity of explosives was recovered from the new hideout.
