Dhaka, March 22: Mahbubul Alam Hanif MP, joint general secretary of Bangladesh Awami League, said that Bangladesh has become an independent country after a long struggle. "We are grateful to India for the independence of Bangladesh. Because when the Pakistani aggressors started genocide in Bangladesh, 12 million of our people took refuge in India. Not only that, the freedom fighters of Bangladesh were trained and assisted with weapons, at the same time the Indian army has fought with Bangladesh. Eighteen thousand soldiers died in these battles."

He said the blood of Indian soldiers is behind the independence of Bangladesh. And many heads of state are coming on the occasion of the golden jubilee of Bangladesh and the birth centenary of Bangabandhu. There is no opposition to their visit. So why is there so much opposition to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Bangladesh? They are the defeated forces of Pakistan who sowed the seeds of communalism in the name of so-called opposition to India in Bangladesh after the assassination of Bangabandhu in 1971. Who raised militants in this country. Now is the time to unite against them.

On Sunday (March 21) evening at the traditional public library of Cox's Bazar, on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of independence, he was the chief guest at a discussion meeting of the freedom fighters.

The program was inaugurated by Major (Retd.) ASM Shamsul Arefin, Central Convener of Unity of Liberation War.

In his inaugural address, he said, Bangabandhu has brought independence to Bangladesh. His dream was to liberate the poverty stricken people of this country. Build the country in such a way that Bengalis can stand tall in the heart of the world. He has given blood for this country. The farmer has to repay his blood debt by putting a smile on his face.
